Onjuku Gardening Club – Day9 : Changing from fall/winter to spring/summer vegetables

Saturday, April 9, was the day for planting spring and summer vegetables, but weeding was by far the more time-consuming task. From the time we gathered at 8:00 am until the chime sounded to signal noon, we frantically weeded two fields for four hours.

Onjuku Gardening Club -Day6 : Late Harvest of Autumn-Planted Vegetables

Winter is a slow time for the Onjuku Vegetable Gardening Club. Many people gathered for Day 5 at the end of October, but for Day 6, we had a quiet but very enjoyable harvest! We sowed the seeds and replanted the seedlings on October 9 last year, and it's been over 3 months since then, but it's harvesting!

Onjuku Gardening Club Day2 : Ridge and furrow

It's been two weeks since our last Onjuku gardening club gathering! Last time we concentrated on weeding as it was Day1, but this time we did the rest of the weeding, tilled the soil, and added organic fertilizer and rice husk ash to adjust the soil acidity. We prepared a fluffy bed for the next round of sowing!
